Ice Dance Mise-en-scene Setting - Kim starts in her bedroom where everything is very normal and basic but then when she goes outside because she sees a bright light it is the complete opposite because of Edward and the ice angel he is trimming with is abnormal hands which makes you feel that he is not normal like Kim. Divergent In the scene 'welcome to dauntless' In the movie 'Divergent' mise-en-scene (props, costume, hair/make-up, lighting, setting and character expression and movement) is used to create meaning. In this scene the props of the tall sky scrappers gives it the sense of danger and being fearless which is what the faction dauntless is all about. Mise-En-Scene The costume in this scene shows all of the new initiates in there different faction clothing, abnegation-grey, amity-orange/yellow, candor-black/grey, dauntless-black, erudite-navy blue. this shows that some of them are new to this kind of environment and might be nervous because they are doing activities that are completely against what they are comfortable with. The hair and make-up is all quite similar.
